Great LED Gift Ideas

LED's are truly the technology of the future. LED stands for light emitting diode and the technology only seems to be getting better and better. You'll find it used in places, gadgets and accessories that you might not be aware of. From the LED screens at your local sports arena to street signs to items you use everyday, LED's are used in such a wide array of devices and places, they seem to be becoming positively ubiquitous. LED's are relatively inexpensive to use, tiny in size and there's thousands of ways to use them. This makes them great for fun and novelty gifts as well as practical gifts. Here's some idea for LED gifts for just about anyone:

Flashlights

No area has become more prevalent for LED lights than in flashlights. Using LED instead of traditional bulbs in flashlights is extremely advantageous. First, the size is much smaller, so more lights can be put into the same amount of space, thus allowing smaller flashlights with much brighter light. Second, LED's require less energy to light, so an LED flashlight will have a longer usage time with the same amount of batteries. In addition, batteries as small as watch batteries can be used to power LED flashlights, meaning these handy little lights will come in tinier and tinier packages.

Jewelry

It may seem like a funny idea, but LED jewelry is starting to gain traction. Have you ever been to a restaurant, sporting event or special occasion where people were walking around with flashing lights around their neck, on their wrist or around their head? Many of us have, and in just about every case, these flashing lights are LED jewelry or accessories. Things like bracelets, necklaces and hats are available that incorporate LED lights that flash different colors from the same bulb. Even fun LED earrings are becoming popular. Keychains are a popular accessory that uses colorful, flashing LED lights.

Toys

More and more toys are available that include LED lights. From yo-yos, fans, blocks, action figures, dolls, cars and trucks, jumpropes to frisbees, the possibilities are endless. In the future, expect even more toys, including mainstream brands, to incorporate LED lighting for many purposes.

Decorative Items

This is a fun area. There are many decorative items that incorporate LED's. A fun way to use LED lights in your home, and also make your home a little bit safer, is to try some LED candles. LED candles are available in many types, including tea lights, votives, candle lights and more. Instead of risking a house fire using real candles, try some of these handy and fun LED candle lights. They are useful and practical. Instead of setting out a bunch of real candles around your bath, try some LED candles instead. There's even a type of LED candle that floats on water. What a fun way to take a bath! There's also many decorative items available like boxes, eggs, hearts and flowers that incorporate LED's.
