LG 47LH90 47-Inch LCD HDTV - Top 5 Reasons You Are Guaranteed Entertainment Pleasure

If you are looking for a treat this Christmas holiday season then the LG 47LH90 47 Inch LCD HDTV might just fit the bill. With an excellent design and superb performance the LG 47LH90 was one of the most highly reviewed high definition televisions of 2009. In independent reviews carried out this HDTV came out high in its looks and performance.

Here are the top five reasons you may want to consider this LCD HDTV

1. The In-Built Technology. For example, THX, LED Mega contrast, and energy saver. THX is a certification given to certain HDTV that display high quality viewing and exceptional images. THX technology aims to deliver true sound and vision of broadcasts and movies. The LED mega contrast allows for superb contrast ratio, color, clarity and efficiency. This LG model also received a power saver reward from CNET the reputable independent electronic review site in July 2009.

2. Intelligent Sensor. The LG 47LH90 is able to automatically adjust to different lighting situations in the room to give a true picture of what you are watching. This is specially important whilst watching a movie or playing video games.

3. Back lit LED Technology. With back lit LED technology the HDTV is able to provide an array of colors, use less energy and do not need replacement. The LG 47LH90 has a dimming feature that controls the LED's back lights based on the picture on screen. So essentially based on what you are viewing, the back light LED is optimized saving you energy and increasing viewing experience.

4. LG Invisible Speaker. The speaker is not only invisible, it is built in with high quality performance in mind. Of course you cannot compare to a separate sound system, but the LG 47LH90 speaker does not disappoint. You will not need to purchase a separate sound system if you do not want to.

5. True motion 250HZ. Ever watch fast and the furious? Or was it motor racing? With the True motion 250HZ technology the days of motion blur is over. This LG LCD HDTV can process fast images at pretty much lightening speeds.

What's the Best Type of HDTV - LCD, Plasma Or DLP?

Buying a high definition television is no small investment. It's not just the price you're worried about. You also want the best possible set on your budget.

There's really no such thing as 'the best type of HDTV'. It all depends on what you're looking for and the kind of money you want to spend.

Generally, plasma HDTVs are known for their picture quality. If you want the best picture quality for the cheapest price, go for plasma. If however screen size is more important to you, you can get HUGE DLP sets for a fraction of the price of a plasma or LCD of the same price.

And what's LCD good for? Well although an LCD of plasma-like quality and big size is generally more expensive than the others, LCDs are much thinner and lighter, and the pricier ones are of a standard that plasma and DLP just don't compare to.

DLP

DLP is great if you're looking for a bargain on a huge screen. You can get a 73 inch 1080p HDTV for just $2500. Remember though, if you're looking to go over 50 inches, make sure you look for DLP rear-projection. The blacks on these are pretty impressive, so you don't have to suffer with rubbish contrast. It's also worth looking out for the LED-backlit models, which are instant-on, have great colour quality and last much longer than the old light bulb based models.

What are the disadvantages? Well although DLPs are pretty light, they're usually quite chunky and don't work very well with wall mounts. The biggest problem however is the viewing angle. If you'll be watching TV in a small room from all angles, it's best to avoid DLP, as it isn't able to keep its picture quality from extreme angles.

Plasma

Apart from the most ridiculously expensive LCDs, plasma beats all in blur-free motion, contrast and blacks. If you've read about these in the past you might be worried about short life-spans and burn-in. These are no longer issues with the newer sets, which have much longer half-lives and anti burn-in technology.

Disadvantages: Plasma uses double the power of LCDs, so if your electricity bill's already keeping you up at night, you may want to think twice about going plasma. Plasma is also generally more expensive than an LCD of the same size (don't forget you get great picture quality as a result). They're a touch heavier than LCD but not enough to break your wall mount.

LCD

LCD is your default choice for a HDTV if you're looking to go 42" or less. The smaller screens are cheaper than plasma and they tend to be thinner and lighter than the others. You can dial down the back light on an LCD, so they can easily be greened - great for watching a late night movie. Although the picture quality generally isn't as good as plasma, the new much more expensive LED-backlit models come very close.

LG 55LH90 55-Inch 1080p 240Hz LED Backlit LCD HDTV, Glossy Black/Infused Blue Overview

Vizio VF551XVT Or How You Can Get a Lot of HDTV For Your Buck

So you're thinking of buying a 55 inch LCD TV? You have many choices, as many companies make them. If you want a lot for your money, you should consider the Vizio VF551XVT.

Vizio VF551XVT's most impressive feature is its price, $1,999 most places. It is impressive because this LCD TV features LED backlighting with local dimming. The backlight behind the panel is composed of some 2,000 white LED lights (conventional LCD TVs use fluorescent lights). The LED lights are combined into groups that can dim or brighten independently of one another, according to the needs of the image displayed. The result: you get deep blacks, which is an important element of great picture quality.

It comes with 240Hz refresh rate (102Hz with progressive scanning, so doubling), thereby improving your enjoyment of fast action movies, sports. And it makes this LCD TV good for games.

It comes with plenty of connectivity (5 HDMI and one Game port), can play back MPEG-2, H.264, WMV9 Video, JPEG photos, MP3 files; a good array of picture adjustments, including nine adjustable picture modes (though Golf, Baseball, Basketball and Football seem to be the same one with a different name). You can tweak to your heart's desires the adjustments for all four color temperature presets.

And, of course, it's got 1080p (full HD) resolution. On a TV set this large, you definitely need it.
On the negative side, not so good-looking, the deep black comes at the expense of some contrast, and there's some variable backlight.

The image quality is a bit less than that of some of its competitors. But the competitors cost a lot more. Samsung's UN55B8500 will run you $3,400, at least, LG's LG47LH90 will run you $2,999. Again, Vizio VF551XVT will cost you a mere $1,999. If you put them side by side, you'll notice that Vizio's TV produces a lesser quality image. However, it you see this Vizio TV set by itself, you're going to think it's got a great image.

So, if you'd rather get a lot of HDTV for your money, Vizio's the way to go.

Portable TVs and Their Lifespan

Portable TVs have changed through the years since the first introduction in the market. Their designs have changed to the more edgy ones. Materials also improved. From using plastic, metal is now the favorite cover. Screens also evolved drastically. From a regular LED monitor which consumes more energy but with lower picture quality, LCD portable TVs are now the norm. Battery life is no longer blinking at the end of only one TV show. You can do a marathon as a matter of fact. But with all the apparent changes in manufacturing portable TVs, do their lifespan automatically improved as well?

There are many factors affecting the lifespan of portable players. Here are some of those which you do not expect to be big influences at all.

1. Materials
Sturdier materials used nowadays are dust-free, water-resistant (as opposed to waterproof models) and most importantly, shockproof. Without these qualities, dirt can easily accumulate inside the device and cause some problems. Water can get inside with just a drop and even moist can destroy the screen quality. Shocks when you accidentally drop or bump the device can instantly dilapidated all portable TVs. Thanks to better materials which are often patented by companies, you can now enjoy your gadget longer.

2. Applications
TVs with many applications and downloading capability like the current tablets can also decrease lifespan. They are not computers to store so many programs. If a regular computer crashes with them, what more for portable TVs. That is not their nature.

3. Energy sources
Fluctuations of energy when charging can damage the unit so be sure to have stable electrical flow in the socket. Likewise, many people mistakenly use there devices even while charging. Doing this can speed up the battery's life.

HDTV - LCD Versus DLP Versus Plasma

Have you ever wondered what LCD, Plasma and DLP means? Which one is better? Which one is cheaper? Is it right for me? We all have encountered this while looking for a great HDTV. Technology is always upgrading itself. So many of us go to the store and see what is the best to buy. You start looking at the new HDTV but you have no idea what all this 1080p, 124Hz DLP means. Finally you find a sales clerk. He starts explaining to you what the differences are but in the end they all still sound the same. Then you decided to look on-line and found this guide.

So what are LCD, Plasma and DLP? LCD are Liquid Crystal Display. In simple terms, they're "sandwiches" made up of liquid crystal pushed between 2 glass plates. The images are created by varying the amount of electrical charges applied on each crystal. Plasma on the other hand, is a matrix of tiny plasma cells charged with electrons to produce a image. DLP are Digital Light Processing screens.

So what are some of the advantages that each one has? DLP are larger and cheaper then LCD or Plasma. DLP provides good brightness and great color accuracy. It can also produce higher contrast in deeper blacks compared to the other 2. However DLP has a weakness, it has a limited viewing range, while LCD and Plasma has consistent viewing angles without losing any quality.

Plasma and LCD are both masterpieces. Plasma is great for Night time while LCD is great for daytime. They both have about 60,000 hours of lifespan. But in terms of resolution LCD is the best. Plasma also got a "burn in" problem. This can also happen for LCD but many experts say it will happen more likely on plasma then LCD.

So are you tired of playing Halo on a split-screen where you have to squint your eyes at a small window with your controller? Maybe it is finally time for an upgrade.

What to Know When Looking For a New HDTV

Going to the big box to look for your first new HDTV is fun but it will quickly become a little complicated for someone who hasn't shopped for a television in a while, due to all the high tech features and numbers that tell you about the specifications. There are terms like interlaced scanning, compression methods, and bit rates, but all this only makes it harder to make decisions. You will do yourself a favor and simplify it all by figuring out what your type of TV viewing consists of.

There are basically two types of customers out there shopping for HDTV's, which is similar to shopping for surround sound systems. There is the mostly casual consumer only listening to music and watching TV at the end of the day to find some relaxation. For those folks there is no need to learn about every term and specification on the equipment. The other set of consumer is into all those numbers and probably already knows them by heart just like the super audiophiles that can tell you every detail of a sound system.

If the casual consumer is your style you will have only two specifications on the new HDTV to give any attention to, the refresh rate and the resolution. If you don't have special vision that allows you to see super detail then you won't need to go crazy on the resolution number. Check this out by watching two HDTV's side by side, one the higher end and one more moderate, then see if you really can tell any difference in the crispness of the video. And it's really important to think whether you would truly notice these differences if you had one of these in your home.

Choosing a HDTV with a high refresh rate is what you are going to want to put your efforts into because this is something you can see, even a casual customer can. The refresh rate is how often per second a new image is presented and if that number is low you can actually tell that it looks a bit clunky. So even the casual consumer will want to find a HDTV with the highest refresh rate possible.

Unless you are seriously into home entertainment technology, you will probably find that there isn't that much more that you really need to know on the technical side. Instead, focus of finding a well recommended HDTV with a high refresh rate and features that you will actually use, such as the ability to download streaming content from internet services like Netflix and Pandora.

Flat Screen TV Stand - Make Sure Your TV is Safe

A flat screen TV stand is used to hold a flat screen TV. There are three options.

Stationary

A stationary stand is not mobile or maneuverable they usually cannot be adjusted and do not move from side to side. A stand that is stationary is made to stay in one position at all times, it usually housed in a cabinet that has wall on either side of the TV stand making maneuverability impossible.

Swivel

A swivel stand moves from side to side. The base on the stand can swivel from side to side to make the TV viewable from different angles. This is a good choice if the stand cannot be easily viewed from both sides of the room at the same time.

Multi Position

A multi position stand can be maneuvered in many positions that are usually tilt features so that the TV can be moved up and down as well as side to side. A multi position stand is usually located at the top of an entertainment center and is not enclosed.

Cabinet Style

There are many cabinet styles. Some cabinet styles include spaces for other components that may be used. Some look like pieces of furniture when the doors are closed. There are styles for every taste and style.

Costs

The costs vary from style to style and from option to option. The costs can be relatively reasonable. There are some that can be purchased for around one hundred dollars there are some that can run closer to one thousand dollars. It all depends on the style and the functions associated with the ones that are purchased.

They have replaced wall units and entertainment centers of old. The popularity of flat screen TVs has pushed the older models out of the market. They are the only appropriate way to hold a flat screen TV upright and safely.

There is a model of flat screen TV stands for every décor and every need.

LED Brings Pleasure to Viewing TV

LED technology was first used as status and indicator lamps. Over the past six years though, it has been developed to meet general lighting application demands. Samsung is among the first to incorporate light-emitting diodes (LED) into television technology, which is now taking the technological world by storm.

With the introduction of Samsung's LED Full HD television sets B7000 and B6000, light-emitting diodes replace the obsolete CCFL or cold cathode fluorescent lamps as the main light source. As a result, extremely high contrast and slimmer depths introduce a more pleasurable viewing experience. Samsung's LED technologies TVs are also more environmental friendly as they allow homes to save more energy. Unlike other backlight technologies, LED television does not use mercury, minimizing hazards in the environment and the home.

LED television has about 40,000 hours' worth of viewing hours in its life span compared to LCD TV's sixty thousand viewing hours. However, purchasing LED-powered television saves an average viewer about five years' worth of power consumption. On a smaller scale, LED TVs reduce energy consumption by up to 40% as compared to LCD high-definition television of similar size.

LED technology captures the natural colors of real life with the production of darker blacks, crisp whites, and strong contrast between dark and vivid colors. Samsung also enhanced its LED-powered products with Auto Motion Plus frame interpolation, which effectively reduces image judder and motion blur. All in all, you have an energy saving technology that has an incrediblt picture that is much better than what we are viewing today. The future has arrived in the form of LED flat screens.

Great LED Gift Ideas

LED's are truly the technology of the future. LED stands for light emitting diode and the technology only seems to be getting better and better. You'll find it used in places, gadgets and accessories that you might not be aware of. From the LED screens at your local sports arena to street signs to items you use everyday, LED's are used in such a wide array of devices and places, they seem to be becoming positively ubiquitous. LED's are relatively inexpensive to use, tiny in size and there's thousands of ways to use them. This makes them great for fun and novelty gifts as well as practical gifts. Here's some idea for LED gifts for just about anyone:

Flashlights

No area has become more prevalent for LED lights than in flashlights. Using LED instead of traditional bulbs in flashlights is extremely advantageous. First, the size is much smaller, so more lights can be put into the same amount of space, thus allowing smaller flashlights with much brighter light. Second, LED's require less energy to light, so an LED flashlight will have a longer usage time with the same amount of batteries. In addition, batteries as small as watch batteries can be used to power LED flashlights, meaning these handy little lights will come in tinier and tinier packages.

Jewelry

It may seem like a funny idea, but LED jewelry is starting to gain traction. Have you ever been to a restaurant, sporting event or special occasion where people were walking around with flashing lights around their neck, on their wrist or around their head? Many of us have, and in just about every case, these flashing lights are LED jewelry or accessories. Things like bracelets, necklaces and hats are available that incorporate LED lights that flash different colors from the same bulb. Even fun LED earrings are becoming popular. Keychains are a popular accessory that uses colorful, flashing LED lights.

Toys

More and more toys are available that include LED lights. From yo-yos, fans, blocks, action figures, dolls, cars and trucks, jumpropes to frisbees, the possibilities are endless. In the future, expect even more toys, including mainstream brands, to incorporate LED lighting for many purposes.

Decorative Items

This is a fun area. There are many decorative items that incorporate LED's. A fun way to use LED lights in your home, and also make your home a little bit safer, is to try some LED candles. LED candles are available in many types, including tea lights, votives, candle lights and more. Instead of risking a house fire using real candles, try some of these handy and fun LED candle lights. They are useful and practical. Instead of setting out a bunch of real candles around your bath, try some LED candles instead. There's even a type of LED candle that floats on water. What a fun way to take a bath! There's also many decorative items available like boxes, eggs, hearts and flowers that incorporate LED's.

So next time you're in the store, check out items with LED lights. They have many advantages and are a great gift idea.

LN32B360 - Most Affordable & Best Value 32-Inch LCD HDTV From Samsung

The LN32B360 is a 32-inch LCD HDTV that is one of the recent models that have joined the already long list of products in the LCD market. However, this particular model from Samsung stands out to have the best picture quality.

Although it lacks the surprise that a consumer expects in a cutting-edge technology like a higher angular resolution the LN32B360 still manages to be one of the leaders in the black-level category. This is because its native resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels is just suitable for a screen of this size. This is because the LN32B360 is only a 720p HDTV while the other more expensive screens are in the level of 1080p and they can support 1920 x 1080 pixels. And even if it does not support the highest of HDTV resolutions, it is notable that the LN32B360 can work flawlessly with other HD video sources that expand beyond 720p HDTV.

The external appearance of the Samsung LN32B360 is simple and elegant. The screen features a glossy black case with a clear plastic body work and dark frame surrounding the screen. The stand is minimalistic just like any other HDTV design. However, LN32B360 model features some subtle changes in the general design so that the clear plastic protrudes and runs smoothly along the lower part. The stand also swivels much like a PC that can be adjusted.

The remote of the LN32B360 is long and thin and well matches the design and color of the screen. It can fit well in the palms and very easy to use.

When it comes to performance, the LN32B360 can compete with the other more expensive HDTVs out there. The LM32B360 model has a 30000:1 contrast ratio which means that it can make you see deep blacks and strong bright whites. The colors look good and they are acceptable within HD standards. The range of the LN32B360 is wide enough to cover most spectrums although there are some traces of inaccuracy especially for bright colors. However, this rare inaccuracy of the LN32B360 is not caught by a naked eye and may not even be noticed under normal circumstances.

The moving sequences of the LN32B360 are also good because it can handle videos with a 24 frame per second format which is close to what Blu-ray players can produce. The Samsung LN32B360 is a good pick if you want a high definition LCD TV that is capable of giving you a satisfactory viewing experience. The $550 dollar price tag of the LN32B360 is just reasonable for a worthy purchase.

HDTV Information - What You Need to Know Before Striking the Final Deal

HDTV has gained increasing popularity with a growing number of people. However very few people are aware of HDTV information and what it is all about. Every discerning consumer needs to know a few basic points about HDTV to enjoy its many benefits and features.

To start with, the most basic HDTV information is that HDTV stands for high definition TV. It is a technologically advanced medium of television broadcast that makes use of state of the art digital technology to come up with fine, clear pictures on your screen. This high definition TV is broadcast in widescreen format as well as Dolby Digital audio bringing about true to life images and impeccable, superior sound quality.

Every informed consumer has sufficient HDTV information to help them understand this innovative television broadcast medium. Since HDTV can be a costly investment for most people, it is a great idea to gather in-depth information about it and be aware of its functions. The internet is full of HDTV information and reviews of HDTV users. Reading online reviews is certainly a great way to know more about the product. Once you start reading the many reviews about HDTV you will more or less have a clear idea of what you would like to do.

For valuable HDTV information, you could read reviews written by unbiased users. Many times you will find HDTV information provided by a sales team and this will only give you a one dimensional view of the product. What you really need are well-written and objective reviews on HDTV to help you decide if it is worth investing your money in.

Most of the HDTV information available on the internet states some important features that include less of interference on the screen, movie theatre image, three dimensional sound, bright and colorful pictures, and life like images with fine detail. If it is HDTV that you want, it is not very difficult to start using it; all you will need are an HDTV antenna or Satellite TV dish and an HDTV compatible television.

There will be many factors that you will need to consider before buying HDTV for your home. For example, there are many online reviews on whether indoor HDTV antenna works better than an outdoor one. By reading and comparing information, you will be able to come to a wise decision.

Reading reviews on HDTV may not be sufficient for thorough consumer research. What most informed customers do is create a checklist of what they are looking for from a product and then read up on information available and see if all their requirements are met. You could go with the same approach when looking for appropriate HDTV information.

Although looking for HDTV information might be time consuming, it is worth the effort. At times you might make an impulsive decision and get an HDTV model that seems to fit into your budget. However, such hasty decisions always lead to disappointments and it is always better to wait and gather as much information as possible before making the final purchase.

Portable Speakers

Everything is becoming portable these days. You can take your phones, music and even movies with you everywhere you go. The only problem it would seem is when you wish to share your music or videos with friends, those tiny speakers on mp3 players and portable DVD players are just not adequate for playing to a group. Most of the time in fact you need ear buds or phones to hear them yourself. Portable speakers are the answer to the problem and there are many to choose from.

Top Four Portable Speakers

Choosing the right portable speakers is a matter of planned use and the device you are trying to use them with. Unfortunately, as you will see most portable unit and really most accessories period are for the Apple iPod. That being said here are the top four portable speakers, in no particular order.

Altec Lansing InMotion

This sleekly designed portable speaker was created for any dock connecting iPod. Beautiful design and thumping bass makes the Altec Lansing a top contender for the Bose customer.

These device work on AC or battery backup and actually charge your iPod while it is docked. To use this beauty without the power supply requires 8 D batteries.

Customers Comments:

The unit itself is somewhat heavy but it is about what you would expect for excellent base in portable speakers. Would hesitate to take it to the beach as the loading mechanism is exposed. The sound quality blows the Bose sound dock out of the water, so even at $149 it is a good competitive price.

Sony Impact I-Fusion

Good quality sound in a compact carrying case makes these a number one choice among many iPod users. The hard case serves two basic functions first it protects the portable speakers from damage and second it enhances the sound quality. The case also doubles as a storage area for your iPod and ear buds, which is quite handy. These unit can handle any music genre at about any volume level.

Customer Comments:

After two years of use, these portable speakers are still going strong and I use them every day.

LG Portable Speakers MSP-100

When it comes to portable these little buggers, fit the bill. Ultra small with a clamshell like design for their size and price these are great little portable speakers. If you need a little more volume say next to the pool or in your car for the reasonable price of $49 you can't go wrong. The device comes with audio ports and an internal lithium battery.

The only downside is the portable speakers do not have a volume control themselves. You are limited to the volume control on your media player.

Customer Comments:

Perfect for small applications and works with a variety of players.

Logitech Play Gear Amp Portable Speakers

However, many products are focused on compatibility with the iPod, Logitech seen fit to expand options to include the Sony PSP gaming device. This product is styled to match the PSP and even comes with an adjustable stand for it. If you are looking to get more sound from your PSP these portable speakers can do the job.

Cons:

• Not really pocket size

• Cones are prone to damage

• Weak bass

You will not be hosting a party with your PSP but you can enjoy better sound with these device. These speakers are capable of AC or DC current and with three batteries; you will have more than enough power. Charge from batteries lasts longer than the charge for the player itself.

Customer Comments:

Compact, nice carrying case and more than adequate battery life.

Samsung LN52A860 52 Inch 1080p LCD HDTV

Samsung is often overlooked when you think of top grade Electronics with many people looking to Phillips, Sony or even Toshiba before they would by a Samsung product, but with the High Definition products they are putting out these days you cannot look past Samsung because of they great medium prices on top grade products.

Samsung has come out with there new up to date High Definition Television models and they are most definitely top of the line when you look at the product, price and overall flexibility of these new televisions. The Samsung LN52A860 Ultra-thin 52" 1080p LCD HDTV with 120Hz refresh rate is a great priced product as well. I have had this Samsung LN52A860 TV for 4 days so far, and I can't say enough positive about things about it. The set up was easy, and the amount of control you have for the picture settings is very in depth. The blue TOC (Touch of Color) is only just noticeable, it really looks black/graphite grey unless you look very closely.

The extra warranty of the Samsung LN52A860 (18 months instead of 12 months for the 850) is a nice perk. The good news is that the 'halo effect' that some owners of the 750 have fussed about is non-existent on the Samsung LN52A860.

I also love the spin stand because I did not wall mount this Samsung LN52A860 TV even though it is exceptionally thin. The picture show is stunning, and there are so many functions and features that I just have notgone through all of them yet.

Plugged in my HD cable box and new Blu-ray player via HDMI and everything has worked perfectly so far. On the flip side, there is a lag if you are using the little circle dial on the remote. Better off just clicking up, down, left, or right instead of spinning the dial around and waiting for the Samsung LN52A860 TV to react.

I don't have surround sound yet, but the Samsung LN52A860 TV speakers aren't too bad. Hard to rave about fake surround sound from tiny TV speakers, but that's expected. I didn't want a red or blue tv in my living room. With out getting technical this is a great set, cheaper than SONY and highly rated. You won't be dissapointed, I am so delighted with my purchase. Super thin and light weight. This unit has a very small bezel around it for a very clean look.

Overall, I would recommend this Samsung LN52A860 52" 1080p LCD HDTV without hesitation this to anyone looking for a new 1080p LCD TV. I am so impressed with this tv.

Samsung LN52B750 52-Inch 1080p 240Hz LCD HDTV (Charcoal Grey Touch of Color)

Samsung has recently launched its new range of 240Hz LCD HDTVs that comes with new exterior designs, new features and better image quality. Here is a quick look at one of the bigger models, the Samsung LN52B750 52-Inch 1080p 240Hz LCD HDTV (Charcoal Grey Touch of Color).

The video performance on the Samsung LN52B750 (Charcoal Grey Touch of Color) is one of the best I have ever seen. Although Plasma and LED-backlit TVs still produce much better images, when it comes to LCD HDTVs, the new LN52B750 outperforms any other models in the market.

The blacks on this new model are much darker than its predecessors as well as models from other brands. The color accuracy was also very good, producing life-like color tones. This was most evident during close-ups and high-zoom scenes. The 240Hz refresher rate on the Samsung LN52B750 52-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV also significantly reduced the blurring effect during fast action sequences. For some reason (probably due to aesthetic reasons), Samsung used a glossy screen for this model. Although it looks really good, it does reflect the lights from windows and lamps in the room.

The new Samsung LN52B750 52-Inch 1080p 240Hz LCD HDTV sports a new minimalist design. This model has square, angular edges and rests on a rectangle stand. Above the stand, the TV is supported by a transparent cylinder. The frame around the screen is of a dark gray color. All in all, the new design is much 'cooler' than some of the older Red Touch of Color designs.

It also comes with several new features. Besides streaming videos and viewing images, the new Samsung LN52B750 now have access t Yahoo Widgets. The many features of Yahoo Widgets can appear on along black bar below the screen. One of the widgets allows you to access live Twitter feeds while watching your favorite program. Thus far, this model has proven to be one of the best LCDs in the market, whether it terms of features or performance. If you are planning to get yourself a new 52-inch LCD TV (and can afford to pay the extra premium), you should definitely get your hands on this model.

What is the Difference Between Plasma TV, LCD TV and LED TV?

Over the past decade home entertainment technology has really taken some huge leaps forward. Today, the task of buying a new TV is not just a matter of picking your favourite brand or buying the largest size you can afford. There seem to be more options than ever, and this has certainly led to a lot of confusion among consumers. With that in mind, what exactly are the main differences between the different types of TV, and which is the best?

Plasma TVs are one of the older types of flat screen. They are relatively cheap to produce meaning that prices are generally low for the screen size, which led to plasma becoming a popular choice with consumers who wanted to get the largest screen for their money. These TVs use a gas, which then turns into plasma when an electronic current is passed through it; the plasma then emits the light to create the pictures. This results in a high quality, realistic picture that doesn't suffer from motion blur. It also offers a particularly wide viewing angle.

However, plasma screens do tend to only have a lifespan of about 10-15 years and do use a relatively high amount of energy, which is now frowned upon as many consumers are trying to become more environmentally friendly. Plasma screens are also quite thick, and are very heavy for their size, so they can be awkward to move. The screen is also fairly susceptible to glare, especially in bright rooms.

LCD TVs can trace their roots back to computer monitors and were first introduced at around the same time as plasma TVs. These TVs use the same basic technology as your pocket calculator screen and are backlit with florescent light. They have a much longer lifespan than plasma screens, something in the region of 30+ years, and also use much less power. Traditionally LCD prices were higher than plasma, but as new manufacturing techniques have evolved the prices are now rapidly falling.

While LCD TVs are available in a wide range of sizes, they do offer the worst performance of all the flat screens though, not only do they have the lowest contrast level but they also have a slow refresh rate meaning that motion blur often occurs. The viewing angle is also much narrower than that of plasma TVs, which means that it can be difficult to find a location that offers a good view for everyone, especially in smaller rooms.

LED TVs are actually the next generation of LCD screens, as they are based on a similar technology but use LED backlighting instead of the florescent backlighting found in traditional LCD screens. The new backlighting technology means that they are able to deliver a much more dynamic picture quality, they also use significantly less power than even the most efficient LCD TVs. LED screens can be made to be extremely thin, so they offer consumers the ability to place the TV practically anywhere - indeed it is now commonplace to see TVs fastened to the wall in order to save floor space.

As this is still a relatively new development, LED screens do tend to be more expensive than their LCD counterparts. However as LED TVs become more widespread the cost of production is expected to drop significantly, which will be reflected through dramatically lower prices in-store. Having said that, LED technology is considered to be the most reliable of all the flat screen formats so many people don't mind paying a little bit more.

The world of home entertainment can certainly be a confusing place, especially as new advances in technology seem to come along on an almost monthly basis. Hopefully this article has shed some light on the current generation of flat screen TVs, so at least you can stand a fighting chance the next time you venture into the home entertainment section of the electronics store.

The High Sensitivity feature also allows ISO 3200 for small captures. In addition, the camera supports JPEG, RAW, and AVI files. The raw shot produced is compatible with Digital Photo Professional provided by Canon without compromising the quality of the image. Through the use of the software, images can be converted in to JPEG, TIFF, and other formats desire by the user.

The look of Canon G10 Digital Camera is similar to that of G9. Canon G10's video files can play with 30 frame per second with a resolution of 640x480 and maximum image file size is 4416x3312 pixels.

The Magic of Full HDTV

The Full HDTV is now the 'in thing' in television talk. This modern television standard is also referred to as 'UltraHD' and 1080p. The type of technology that goes into making this television produces higher video quality and sharpness than that of the older high-definition televisions which were simply called HDTV or HD Ready. This superior level of television provides a picture resolution of 1920 X 1080 pixels.

The old HDTV technology only has vertical resolution count from 720 lines and a progressive scanning ability of 720p up to 1080 lines with an interlaced scanning. On the other hand, the Full HDTV now provides 1080 lines with progressive scanning that can be called 1080p. These mentioned figures represent the given number of horizontal lines that can be found in a full raster. The p therefore denotes the progressive scanning; with one particular scan displaying each line in the image raster being counted from up down, and (i) in turn is referring to the interlaced scanning whereby every scan shows alternate lines in the picture raster. The result is that two scans will be therefore needed to complete the desired picture.

The greater power of progressive scanning is seen when producing 'full motion' video pictures in that less flicker or jitter is experienced, this is especially apparent when handling diagonal or vertical moving objects across the screen.

The better quality is also more noticeable when displaying images that move at high speed like sports coverage, computer games and DVD movies. The proof of 1080p Full HDTV can is reflected in the fact that the standard is now the benchmark for Full HDLCD TV and Plasma TV.

The high quality of images produced by full HDTVs qualify them as the pinnacle of television standards which when added to the extra-large screen that is in the modern day home theater systems make them a must have accessory at whatever cost.

How to Choose the Right HDTV For Your Needs

Choosing the right HDTV for you can be difficult. It really depends on how much money you have and what you're trying to do. Of course, you also need to consider what other AV gear you intend on buying. In this article I'll help you decide what to look for when shopping for a new HDTV so you don't get too much TV for your needs, or wish that you'd gotten more.

There are three basic types of HDTV's. Each form has it's own advantages and disadvantages so you'll need to weigh all of them before deciding on a particular model.

First there are flat-panel HDTV's. These are the super-thin models that can be hung on the wall. Flat-panel models come in two flavors:

Plasma -

Pros: thin, good picture, good color.

Cons: less-than-perfect black, screen burn-in, costly.

LCD -

Pros: same as plasma plus no burn-in.

Cons: Black is poorest, costly, angle of view.

Both types of flat-panel models feature the same sleek, sexy looks, so in some ways it's just preference.

Next there are projection HDTV's. These also fall into two main types:

Front Projection - This is the closest equivalent to the movie theater experience with a large screen on the wall and a projector across the room.

Pros: biggest screen, potentially best picture.

Cons: expensive, complicated, higher maintenance.

Rear Projection - The picture is projected on the back of a screen built into the HDTV.

Pros: best bargain, no burn-in, fairly thin.

Cons: size, brightness.

Finally there are CRT HDTV's. These are based on the picture tube as in standard TV's.

Pros: cheapest, best color, best blacks.

Cons: smallest screen, bulky, lower resolution.

Given these choices, these are the things you should consider first when buying an HDTV:

What's your budget? Consider your total budget for the TV and all other home theater items.
What size do you want? Make sure the size you're looking at will fit in your space.
-- More than anything else, these two questions will narrow your selections the most --
What do you plan on using it for? Sports fans might prefer a DLP system, while someone who watched Fox News all day might want to avoid plasma due to the potential of burn-in.
What will you hook it up to? Make sure the HDTV you're considering has the connections for all of your other hardware.
Which cool features do you want most? This question should be asked last. No matter how much you want a specific feature, if it's not in your budget or is only available on models that won't work for your application, they're unimportant.

Every HDTV has benefits and drawbacks. Before spending a lot on a new HDTV, make sure you first identify your specific needs then research the different models available that will eet your needs while staying within your budget.

Samsung UN40B6000 40-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LED HDTV

Samsung UN40B6000 40-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LED HDTV Review

just wanted to commment on my new purchase of the the un40b6000. I have been holding off for several years before taking the high definition plunge. I decided on purchasing the samsung edge lit led tv versus just the lcd version. I have to say for the most part I have been very impressed with the picture. right out of the box the tv was easy to setup and not that confusing on the menu options. Everything was pretty straight forward. HDMI cables are so much easier than having to mess with with all of the component and fiberoptic cables. Just plug and play. The picture quality is great and like many other comments have stated it might be to good. I have noticed especially on blue ray movies that the shows have lost their movie look. The picture is so clear that the movie looks like it is being performed on a stage. It is hard to describe in words seeing is truly believing. The only problems that I have run into with this tv is when I hooked up a samsung blueray player. It seems that there is a default program called samsung anynet+. If you dont disable the program from the blueray player it locks up the blueray player. Easy fix if you know the solution. Anyways if you are on the fence with a tv purchase this is a good product. If you can wait on purchasing like any electronics everything will get better and cheaper. The only advice I can give you is that get ready for some extra expenses. HDMI cables are not cheap. However the cheapest cables work just as good as the most expensive. If you are an existing customer with dishnetwork you can negogitate the service fee for having your hd service turned on. Go aheah and get a blueray player with the tv. Even the standard dvds look awesome on it. good luck and hope this review helps.

Before You Buy a Flat Screen TV

Flat Screen TV's are a big industry. Some statistics put it at about a billion dollars each year. There are three major types available. The Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) TV, the Plasma TV, and the Light Emitting Diode (LED) type TV. LCD TV's are made from layers of plastic or glass. The LCD TV is light weight, uses less energy compared to other types, and is quite thin. This allows the TV to be hung on a wall without being an obstruction.

Some critics say that the LCD TV reproduces colors unnaturally. This is a matter of taste, though the colors can be quite bright, and skin tones tend to be flat. Fast motion action scenes, such as a ball game or a car race, can get blurred or blocky. This is called by some the screen door effect or pixilation. LCD TV's are getting better with the higher refresh rates that are now on the market. LCD TV's are fragile and can develop dead pixels. Dead pixels usually appear as a black or blue speck in the screen. An LCD TV's lifespan is about 30 to 70 thousand hours.

Plasma TVs depict low light or shadow areas the best. Skin tones are more natural and colors are saturated and not so glaring as on an LCD. Plasma screens use 3 layers to contain a mix of noble gasses: xenon, neon, and helium. Plasma TV's lifespan is about 50 to 90 thousand hours. Plasma TV's are heavy. Although plasmas are getting more efficient, they still use more energy than other options. There is also the potential for burn-in. An LED TV is a good compromise. There is RGB Dynamic LED's and Edge-LED's. This type of TV offers a good balance between the LCD and plasma TV's. Though the LED TV uses an LCD screen, the back light makes all the difference.

Samsung LED HDTV

If you've not been watching the television market regularly, you'll probably be in for a surprise when it comes time to purchase a television. A Samsung LED HDTV will eventually be the choice that you arrive at, if you do your homework.

Obviously you've seen HDTV, DLP, LED, LCD, Plasma, Projection, and many other acronyms and descriptions that you may or may not understand. The manufacturers don't just put these tags on their equipment to confuse you, there's just a lot happening in the world of HDTV.

I mentioned buying a Samsung LED HDTV for a reason, actually for several reasons. We all obviously want the best image reproduction possible when purchasing a television. When you buy an HDTV you are getting the best possible resolution if you purchase a 1080p device, but that doesn't mean the actually image being displayed is gong to be the best, only that the amount of data (pixels) used to generate the image is the best you can buy. Even a 1080i image uses the same data, but it refreshes differently.

When/If you buy a Samsung LED HDTV, you're also ensuring that you've also bought a screen that is capable of producing the best image possible with all of that data.

Most people have heard of plasma displays, and they do offer a good picture, but they also have a relatively short life expectancy, and can't produce an image comparable to a new Samsung LED HDTV.

So, what is all the hype about ? LEDs (light emitting diodes) have been around for a long time. However, it hasn't been until fairly recently that they have been advanced to the point they can now be used in higher power applications. Now they're used in street lights traffic control lights, flashlights, automotive lights (brake lights etc.), and now in HDTV displays, just to name but a very few applications.

The reason Samsung is mentioned exclusively in this article, is because Samsung is completely dominating the LED HDTV world presently. They were in the lead developing the technology and they have not slowed down one bit in developing one fantastic Samsung LED HDTV after another.

So, whether you're looking for a DLP device, or maybe an LCD television, I would look seriously at a Samsung LED HDTV. With the LED technology, you can have an image that is up to 40% brighter, colors that are so much more vibrant, and blacks that are truly black.

Do your research before spending such a large sum of money, although the new LED HDTVs are very affordable. Know that if you buy a DLP set that isn't LED powered, you'll be replacing the light sources after a few years. Understand that when you buy an LCD HDTV that doesn't use LED technology, that you'll be getting a display that can be slow to respond to fast moving images, displays dark grays instead of blacks (Samsung has up to a 500,000:1 contrast ratio), and may have color 'bleeding.' It may look very acceptable, until it's compared directly to a Samsung LED HDTV.

Soon the industry standard will be utilizing LED technology as the primary light source in HDTVs. There is however, no reason to wait, unlike plasma technology for instance, don't expect the drastic price cuts on any Samsung LED HDTV. That's because they are using an older technology that has been advanced. You won't be paying for all of the research and development. Of course the same can be said of any of the major manufacturer's devices also.

Sony, as you would expect, is also becoming a player in the LED TV field, but, as in most of their other products, they are generally priced substantially higher than other similar HDTVs. There are also other brands entering the market, but it is being dominated by Samsung.
